UDL Masterclass:

UDL-Informed Course Design

Course description

In this UDL Masterclass, you will learn how to integrate UDL and measure your progress in course-level design and development. First, you will analyze a course you are redeveloping, pick an area of focus, and use it as your example for this Masterclass. Next, you’ll learn a new approach to measuring UDL integration in the course design process. Then, you’ll layer that approach as you design UDL-informed goals, assessments, methods, and materials. By the end of this UDL Masterclass, you will have redeveloped part or all of your course and have a design blueprint to use in future (re)designs.

Is this Masterclass for you?

This Masterclass is for you if you are currently (re)designing a course or service, want to intentionally layer UDL into that design, and need a way to answer the question “is this course UDL?”

What are the learning outcomes?

Each UDL Masterclass has a combination of shared and personalized learning outcomes. You will design your own personalized learning outcomes in consultation with the facilitator. The shared learning outcomes for this course are:

  1. Use a UDL approach to analyze and design a current course or service

  2. Assess the level of UDL integration in your course to make informed design decisions

How will you be assessed?

Assessment will be ongoing and focus on providing mastery-oriented feedback that guides you toward individual growth and mastery rather than a predetermined standard. There will be options for self, peer, and facilitator led assessments. The shared and personalized learning outcomes will guide the feedback and assessment.
